Debates and Discussion / Re: Your View on Religion

That "someone" was and is God in the flesh, that's how He did those things. You need to have faith that you're correct, that Jesus is Lord. It may seem hard, and I've sometimes questioned what I believe in, but I always come back, saying this: "Jesus is Lord, He is the Son of God, and no one will tell me otherwise" :)

I'm a Christian, a Son of God. This states my belief system:

Quote
Latin Nicene Creed:Credo in unum Deum,
    Patrem omnipot?ntem,
    Fact?rem c?li et terr?,
    Visib?lium ?mnium et invisib?lium.
Et in unum D?minum Iesum Christum,
    F?lium Dei Unig?nitum,
    Crucif?xus ?tiam pro nobis sub P?ntio Pil?to;
    Passus, et sep?ltus est,
    Et resurr?xit t?rtia die, sec?ndum Script?ras,
    Conf?teor unum bapt?sma in remissi?nem peccatorum.
    Et expecto resurrectionem mortuorum,
    Et vitam vent?ri s?culi. Amen.

English Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, the maker of heaven and earth, of things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the begotten of God the Father, the Only-begotten, that is of the essence of the Father.
God of God, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten and not made; of the very same nature of the Father, by Whom all things came into being, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible.
Who for us humanity and for our salvation came down from heaven, was incarnate, was made human, was born perfectly of the holy virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit.
By whom He took body, soul, and mind, and everything that is in man, truly and not in semblance.
He suffered, was crucified, was buried, rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven with the same body, [and] sat at the right hand of the Father.
He is to come with the same body and with the glory of the Father, to judge the living and the dead; of His kingdom there is no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, in the uncreated and the perfect; Who spoke through the Law, prophets, and Gospels; Who came down upon the Jordan, preached through the apostles, and lived in the saints.
We believe also in only One, Universal, Apostolic, and [Holy] Church; in one baptism in repentance, for the remission, and forgiveness of sins; and in the resurrection of the dead, in the everlasting judgement of souls and bodies, and the Kingdom of Heaven and in the everlasting life.

I'm not Catholic. I'm Protestant. I don't believe in war, killing, etc. I don't support any wars, I believe that the US is quite corrupt and an abomination, I believe the US (government specifically) needs to be reformed completely. I believe that the government are murderers, keeping secrets from the public. I will not join the military, nor aid in the killing of others in any way shape or form. I will not attempt to kill someone in self-defense, I will let God physically defend me. I have placed my full trust in the God of the Heavens, the Almighty. He who was incarnated into the flesh of man, taught the way to God, died for our salvation and rose again, and ascended back into heaven. He will be coming back. I believe that the Rapture and Tribulation are coming VERY soon. (I'm not a Camping follower, don't worry) I believe that God is literally working through the Christians. I love my Father, as He loves me. I trust fully in Him; He is my only reason for my existence: to further His glory. I carry out whatever He asks me to do, and I repent when I sin. I do not believe in forcing a person to become a Christian, but I believe in spreading God's Word.

@devino - I think you're thinking of the crusaders. Generally, none of the Christians nowadays believe in forcing Christianity onto a person. The reason it has caused and will cause wars is because Jesus Himself said there would be. He stated that we will be persecuted and killed for His Name. However, our reward will be that much greater in Heaven. I agree, the world doesn't need religion. They need God. You don't have to be religious to be a believer in Christ. We Protestants aren't like the Catholics in terms of rituals and laws. (No offense to any Catholics here) We don't believe in others being above us in God's hierarchy. We don't believe in excommunication, nor the pope, nor all of the sacraments. We don't believe the church is the only way to salvation. A man and a God conducted miracles, by His own power and love, and rose again for every one of us. He loves you that much. What do you have to lose? You have everything to gain, nothing to lose.
